Here are some highlights from the research:

• Nearly 70 percent of managers surveyed said they want their administrative staff to volunteer for more projects.
• One-half of managers indicated that support staff currently assist with controlling costs. They also identified cost control as the area in which their companies could use the most assistance.
• Nearly 90 percent of administrative professionals said they feel empowered to volunteer for new projects at their organizations.
